They say the kitchen is the heart of the home and this can be true in a not-so-helpful way. Sometimes we might find ourselves spending so much time in our kitchens that we start storing things there that do not belong in a kitchen.
If you are overwhelmed at the thought of trying to organize your kitchen, it might be because you have too much stuff store there....stuff that really belongs in another room.
First, don't try to do it all at once. That is a sure-fire way to become overwhelmed.
Start with one small task or work one cabinet at a time and do a little bit each day. It may take you longer to get to the end result, but you will keep your sanity along the way.
If you are storing things in your kitchen that really do not belong in a kitchen, find a more logical home for them.
If you are storing things that you never use, donate them or set them aside for your next garage sale.
If you have more "stuff" than you have the space to store, you might need to make some hard decisions about letting go of some of the extra clutter. If you don't really and truly need it, let it go.
Just take one step at a time. Work a little bit each day and when you recognize a problem, find a solution. Make this your goal over the course of the next couple of months and you will wind up with an organized kitchen.
