Never Put It Off Until Tomorrow

For me it had been a busy few days. I had tons of running errands and things to take care of. It was make dinner, eat dinner and run to the next thing, "We'll get to those dishes when we get back" (or not), and "Oh just put the mail in a pile I'll sort it when I have time later." You know how it goes, your so busy doing this that and the other thing that the house goes to pot around you.

As I said, it had been a busy few days and I was tired! I had an early appointment the next morning and had my Aunt coming to baby-sit first thing.

Did I mention I was really tired? Anyway, I decided that instead of cleaning up the disaster that was my house I would set my alarm and get up extra early to get it all done before my Aunt came the next morning.

The alarm I used was on my cell phone and, having been so busy and tired, I neglected to make sure it was charged. As you can probably guess, the phone died during the night and I woke up to my Aunt knocking on my door. Talk about embarrassed, not only did she walk into my "most unorganized moment" but I was also so late that I didn't even have time to take a shower before my appointment.

I try not to put things off anymore. You know, don't put off till tomorrow what you can get done today.

A Story With a Great Lesson NEW
by: Tracy

Kim, thanks for sharing your home organization most embarrassing moment.

I can only imagine how you must have felt when you heard the knock on your door that morning!

It's very easy for all of us to put things off, especially after a long and tiring day, but your story proves that taking a few extra minutes to do things right away can save a lot of time...and embarrassment later.

Thanks for sharing!

Aunt Coming NEW

I think we have all had this happen at one time or another! The funny thing is if we only spent 15 minutes tidying up before going to bed this disaster could have been avoided! Yes, that's right, 15 minutes. It's amazing what you can get done in that time.
