Best Ever Meat Loaf Recipe
Meat loaf is one of my favorite comfort foods and this meat loaf recipe is the best one I have ever made. I always know I found "a keeper" when my husband goes back for a second helping. Serve this up with mashed potatoes and gravy and your family will be begging for more.
Best Ever Meat Loaf
Ingredients:
- 1 lbs. ground sirloin
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 lb. bulk sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
- salt & pepper, to taste
- ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. dried sage
- 2/3 cup tomato puree
- 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg
- ½ cup bread crumbs
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl until well combined. Transfer mixture to a large casserole dish and form into a loaf. Bake for 1 to 1½ hours until completely cooked through.
If you prefer to use loaf pans, you will need to use two - cook them both and if you want to save one for future use, let it cool, wrap it in aluminum foil and then place it inside a freezer bag. It will keep for up to six months.
Don't forget to use your leftovers to make meat loaf sandwiches!
