Cleaning Stainless Steel and Granite

by Kelly

My husband has renovated our kitchen complete with semi-custom cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite counters. What are the best products for maintaining them to help keep them looking new?

Cleaning Stainless Steel and Granite

I personally dislike having to use separate cleaning products for separate tasks...especially in the same room. Nothing makes me happier than when I find a product that I can use for multiple purposes.

With stainless steel, you want a non-abrasive, gentle cleanser that does not contain chlorine.

With granite you want a product that will not leave behind streaks.

I have recently discovered the Mrs. Meyers Clean Day products and I have to say that I am very impressed. The countertop spray is gentle, versatile and effective.

Mrs. Meyers are aromatherapeutic products (there are several scents available) that contain essential oils and environmentally-friendly ingredients. I went with the basil scent. It is on the strong side so I wouldn't recommend using it when you are cooking or baking, but it does leave the kitchen smelling wonderful after you have cleaned with it and the scent lingers so you can still smell it hours after you have used it.

You can get Mrs. Meyers products online at her website www.mrsmeyers.com. I purchased mine through amazon.com. I have also seen these products in Target stores.
