Broccoli Salad Recipe
My mother stumbled upon this broccoli salad recipe at a pot luck supper. She liked it so much she had to have the recipe and she shared it with me. What a quick, easy and delicious way to give yourself a change from the ordinary salad!
This dish is also very versatile. You can substitute turkey bacon to reduce the calories, use yellow or sweet vidalia onion instead of red onion, and even add a little zing to the dressing by using half yogurt and half mayonnaise.
Bring this dish to your next get-together, but make sure you bring several copies of the recipe!
Broccoli Salad
Ingredients:
For the Salad:
- 1 head of broccoli, chopped
- 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 red onion, diced
For the Dressing:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 Tblsp. vinegar
Directions:
Chop the broccoli into bite sized pieces and place into a salad bowl. Add remaining ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix together ingredients for dressing, toss with salad ingredients and refrigerate until ready to serve.
