Bows and Ribbons

What is the best way to store bows and ribbons to be reused on Christmas packages?

There are lots of wrapping paper organizers out there and racks to store rolls or ribbons on, but what do you do with the left over stuff you want to reuse?

Storing Gift Wrap Supplies
by: Tracy

This is a very good question. We all want to be frugal and saving gift wrap supplies to re-use is a great way to save money and recycle useful materials.

What I do with the bows and ribbons that I want to save is to store them right inside my gift wrap organizer. The organizer that I have is a long, flat plastic storage box. The rolls of wrapping paper lay flat in the bottom. On top of that, there are two inserts that act as shelves. I store ribbons and bows in those shelves. The lid fits right on top and everything is kept all in one place.

If you do not have a gift wrap organizer with shelves or compartments for accessories, I would suggest that you use an empty gift bag. You can toss the bows inside the gift bag and keep it near your wrapping paper storage box.

For ribbons, you can also use an empty gift bag or you can use a spool system. There are many ribbon spools available for purchase at craft stores or home organization stores. If you do not want to purchase one, you can make one fairly inexpensively by using a dowel rod glued on one end to a small piece of wood (that you can also purchase at a craft store).

Other options would be to use an old paper towel holder, a pant hanger that is open on one end, or even a tension rod that you can place width-wise inside a closet.
