Recipe

I have recently been using a new recipe for cooking a whole chicken in a crock pot. It is simple, moist and delicious. In fact, I made this recipe for dinner last night and both my husband and my son could not get over how moist and juicy the chicken was.

Crock Pot Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole roasting chicken (3 to 4 pounds)
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teraspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup frozen pearl onions
Directions:

Combine all ingredients except chicken and onions to create a dry rub. Place the frozen pearl onions on the bottom of your crock pot. Rinse and dry the chicken. Rub the outside of the chicken all over with the rub. Sprinkle some of the rub inside the cavity. Place the chicken on top of the onions in the crock put. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
