Hi. I'm 17 years old and I need some major help with my bedroom. I have so many things going on right now. School, looking for a job, family. Please help me.
When you have a lot of different things going on in your life, it is easy to start feeling overwhelmed. Getting organized can help make you feel a little more in control.
The first thing is always to get rid of the clutter. Anything in your bedroom that you no longer want, use or need has to go. Donate it, sell it in a garage sale or throw it away when appropriate.
Once the clutter is gone you have to designate a proper home for all of the items that you plan to keep. You can't put things away if they do not have a home.
Remember one of the most important rules of organization...you are only allowed to have as much stuff as you have the space to store.
If you have things that you need to keep for the different things you have going on in your life...school work, finding a job and family issues, you will want to make sure you keep those things separated and organized.
Get file folders, boxes or bins and label them. Keep all of the papers and materials related to each of these categories in the appropriate labeled bin. That way, if you are looking for a school paper, you don't have to dig through your job applications to find it.
